Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Here you will find answers to frequently asked questions about Cahook and its website monitoring service.

What is Cahook?

Cahook is an uptime monitoring service. It will visit your website and API endpoints periodically and notify you when something breaks.

Is Cahook free?

Cahook offers a free forever plan. It's suitable for monitoring your personal, hobby, and non-profit websites.

There is only one requirement: you must keep your account active by logging in at least once every 90 days. You will receive an email when it's time to check your account and monitors.

How to get the free plan?

When you register an account, you will start with 14-day free trial. When the trial ends, your account will be downgraded to the free plan.

If your premium account expires, it will also be downgraded to the free plan on expiry date.

How often does Cahook check my website?

Cahook can check your websites and API endpoints as often as every 15 seconds, depending on your monitor settings. The monitor intervals available depends on your account plan:

  • Free: every 60 seconds
  • Starter & Pro: every 30 seconds
  • Business: every 15 seconds

Faster intervals let you know about downtime sooner, but it also generates more noise when your websites or network are unstable.

How do I get notified when my website is down?

Cahook will notify you via email when your website is down or API endpoint is unreachable. You can also add Slack, Discord, Telegram, and Webhook channel to receive messages when your website is down and up again.
